ALT-TEXT is launching, and we would like you to be there.
ALT-TEXT is a Brussels-based nonprofit (ASBL/VZW) working on critical AI literacy, media and information literacy, and digital autonomy. We help people understand the technologies shaping their lives and take back some control over them.
Our work includes practical AI and media literacy training, workshops on privacy-respecting and open-source tools, and public education on the business models of big tech. We try to hold ourselves to the standards we espouse.
On the night
The founding team will give a short presentation on who we are, what we are working on and where we are heading. You are encouraged to share your own ideas and thoughts on what you think we should focus on. After that there will be drinks and a DJ set. It is an informal evening and a chance to meet others working on similar questions, whether you are an activist, educator, researcher, community organiser, technologist or simply curious.
