Transparency

Overview

ALT-TEXT operates as a Belgian non-profit (ASBL / VZW) dedicated to advancing media literacy and AI education through research and community initiatives. This page records where our money comes from and what it goes to. It is updated as the picture changes.

Registration

  • Legal status: Association sans but lucratif / Vereniging zonder winstoogmerk
  • Registration number: 1034052266 (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises)
  • Address: Avenue de la Porte de Hal 25, Brussels, Belgium
  • Statutes: publicly available via the Belgian Official Gazette

Commitment

Financial transparency is inseparable from organisational integrity. We will not ask anyone to take our work on trust; we will show our books.

The figures we will publish each year:

  • Institutional funders by name, with their programmes
  • Budget proportion by funding source
  • Any conditions or restrictions that affect what we do or do not do
  • Salaries by band
  • Expenditure categories

Current status

ALT-TEXT remains in its founding phase, supported by founder contributions rather than institutional grants. We will publish the first full account when the inaugural reporting period closes (see below).

Reporting timeline

Annual financial accounts are required under Belgian non-profit law. The organisation’s inaugural accounting period concludes 30 June 2026, with results published thereafter on this page.
